Happy Teacher's Day

           Today is 16th of May... In those days, hari ni la paling best. Especially in SKSP. Early in the morning I would wear my best dress.Normally dah prepare sejak malam siap tempah or bought ready made . Siap kasut and matching handbag.
           In the early morning the pupils would wait to see what their teachers wear on the day. Siap clapped when we came out of the car. Rasa macam celebrity pun ada.Cuma tak da carpet merah ja.
        
           Hall dah siap cleaned and decorated a few days before. We would all be in school.Some decorating the hall, some training the pupils for the stage show.The teachers involved pun turut berlatih.Ada yang nak nyanyi ke. apa ka. Sibuk.The skirting for the table siap di iron. Semua ramai2 pasang.The cleaners with their never finishing tasks. sapu sini, mop sana. Yang lelaki tolak pokok2 hiasan.to help the men teachers who were in charge of the hall and the backdrop.These were all before the big day.
           By 720 am, semua prizes were at one corner of the stage.By 740 an anouncement was made.The pupils walked in rows to the hall. The teachers were already on the stage. Done with the opening speech, all teachers would sing the ever popular song..Guru Malaysia. Budak2 seronok gila2.tepuk tak habis2.Then selected teachers would read the perutusan oleh the Director of Education, followed by the Minister of Education .Bahagian ni paling boring. yang lena pun ada.maklum panjang berjela. Pupils in primary school bukan faham sangat pun.Then ada la sorang dua minta excuse nak pi toilet.Then yang lain ikut..budak2..
          Then a representative from the pupils , normally the headboy would present a speech. Thanking the teachers ...bla bla bla..
          The headmaster would then cut the big Teacher's Day cake. Normally we would be getting cakes from parents too..macam2 jenis and rupa.
          Before we moved to the next agenda, the teachers would get cenderamata.Panel hadiah beli and all teachers akan dapat. naik atas stage and menerima tepukan lagi daripada murid2. Hari ni tangan depa dok clap sedia2..
         After that semua guru will get presents from the pupils masing2. The pupils would give presents to their favourite teachers..banyaknya .penoh boot kereta.I always compare dengan my sis Mazila.Sekolah menengah mormally tak dapat banyak hadiah sangat.But in primary school , hadiah banyak tak terkata.Maybe budak kecik balik merengek beli hadiah.
         I used to get a varieties of presents, from towels, to selendang, pinggan, set cawan,frame paling banyak ,small teddy bears, scarf, pens, powder, soap, tissues macam2 jenis.table runners, and even kain batik..
         Habis pemberian hadiah dari murid2. semua would line up at the canteen. Hari ni selalunya teachers would collect money and belanja budak2, makan free. laksa ke , bihun ke.Lastly followed by ice cream.sapa tak syok..

         Then ada short games. Football and netball match between teachers/pupils. Best tengok murid2 lawan betul2 and cikgu cheating.he he .Budak2 would shout, cikgu tak aci, cikgu tak aci..

          Masa ni makanan di canteen penuh berlambak.Macam2 on the table.yang heavy, yang ringan, fruits, semua ada. Makan la setakat terdaya.
          Around 11am, the hall would again be noisy .Kali ni persembahan pentas. Persembahan murid and guru. Masa ni la tak kering gusi masa time pakaian beragam. Bakat terjongol tak payah cakap.Nyanyi jangan kira la. Kalau Ramli  MS tengok , meleleh air mata or kalau Ogy Ahmad Daud yang tengok dia akan kata, "mana pitching ni kelaut semua balik umah gali lagi"..ha ha..

         Di SKSP we have this anugerah2 for teachers,
         1. Guru paling garang
         2. Guru paling popular.( I selalu dapat yg ni..jangan maraaah..)
         3. Guru  paling dedikasi.dan lain2.

      Names of teachers were given to all pupils .ikut depa lah to tick which one they like.Macam undian sms juga la..

          By 1230 selalunya acara dah habis. Semua balik rumah dengan hati riang, walaupun penat.Kalau tak penat main, penat gelak..
          Then process akhir was to simpan hadiah dalam kereta.Budak2 akan angkut from the staffroom to the car.
         Balik umah Faten dah sedia tunggu.Dia paling suka buka hadiah, sambil bagi comment. Yang paling lucu ialah reading those cards from the level one. Keras perut gelak. where we found wrong spellings yang sangat lucu... Kadang2  di muka depan card was written to 'Techer Mazedah' or "ticher mazena"  or the usual one " pecah kaca pecah gelas.lepas baca harap balas." Ada juga yang touched my heart, where some pupils would try to give hadiah walaupun sebatang pencil. So sweet...

        I missed those days. Teacher's Day is sure something to remember..although now I can only watch it on tv or hear it from the radio....To my ex pupils thanx for those sweet memories. To all teachers..Selamat hari Guru..
